About Us

Our Scout Group is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who give their time freely for the benefit of Scouting in Compton, Plymouth.

Our aim is to fulfil the purpose of the Scout movement by promoting the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities

We can offer your child lots of activities, fun, new adventures and challenges. Your child will be encouraged to join in all the activities we have to offer and gain as much out of it as they can.

Our normal weekly meetings take place in the Compton Methodist Church Hall, Revel Road, Higher Compton. Plymouth PL3 5LF. This is just a little bit further along Eggbuckland Road from the Tesco 24 hour store and next to the Rising Sun Pub. We also have a campsite.

We also have our own campsite at Shaugh Bridge where we regularly have meetings in the Summer term.

We operate 4 different sections as follows

  • Beavers (6-8s) on Fridays from 5pm until 6.15pm
  • Cubs (8-11s) on Fridays from 6.30pm until 8pm
  • Scouts (10-14s) on Fridays from 8pm until 9.30pm but currently from 7pm until 9pm in Summer Term
  • Explorers (14-18s) on Sundays from 6pm to 8pm
