Welcome to 27^th Plymouth Scout Group

Our Scout Group is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who give their time

freely for the benefit of Scouting in Compton, Plymouth. Our aim is to fulfil the

purpose of the Scout movement by promoting the development of young people in

achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as

individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national, and

international communities.

We can offer your child lots of activities, fun, new adventures and challenges.

Your child will be encouraged to join in all the activities we have to offer and gain as

much out of it as they can. For details of the various section meetings please follow the

appropriate link or Icon.

27^th Plymouth Scout Group are based at Compton Church Hall, Eggbuckland

Road which is situated next to the Methodist Church at Compton and the Rising Sun Pub.

We also have  our own campsite at Shaugh Bridge where we regularly have meetings in the

Summer term.

To belong to the group a subscription is charged on a School Term basis.

From September 2011, the fees will increase for the first time in over

twelve years to £30.00 per term or £85.00 for the year.   

Attendances at Camp and weekend activities attract an additional cost, which are

advised at the appropriate time.

All children are required to wear  the standard Scout uniform appropriate to their

section. (see group information).

Group Polo Shirts

We  encourage the wearing of maroon 27th Plymouth polo shirts by parents,

supporters and young people to events (and summer term weekly meetings)

which can be purchased at a cost of £10.00 (child) £12 (adult)  from the group

secretary Kerry Gibbins.
